King Charles to Knight Ed Sheeran

Upon the death of Queen Elizabeth last year, many Brits (myself included) had hoped to see the end of the monarchy in Great Britain; as we know, though, it was not to be. With all of the pomp and circumstance typical of the royal family, Charles ascended to the throne at the beginning of this year.

Knowing full well that he would have to win over the populace and with large shoes to fill, His Majesty’s crack team of marketing personnel set to work and their latest ploy to win over the citizens is disappointing to say the least.

King Charles (reportedly a huge Game of Thrones fan) was elated at Season 6’s surprise guest: Ed Sheeran. Sheeran appeared in the disgraced show as a knight on horseback and (according to Scuzz insiders familiar with the matter) this is the genesis of the PR team’s latest stunt:

“To win over the youth who are currently disillusioned with the monarchy as an institution, we recommended His Majesty should knight Mr. Sheeran; this might make him more relatable as His Majesty is also a huge Sheeran fan, himself.”

Our Scuzz insider (who wished to remain anonymous) reports that Officials representing three Royal Family have reached out to Mr. Sheeran, but he has “ghosted” them. King Charles is reportedly devastated by the cease in communications. His approval ratings are down to 17% as of last week.
