There is no argument that Pink Floyd is one of the best contemporary jazz rock bands of all time, but that doesn't mean that history can't do that again, and it's been sitting infront of our faces all this time, and we haven't realized that The Gorrilaz is our generations Pink Floyd.

The Gorrilaz do what Pink Floyd did best back in their day, today right now.

If Pink Floyd was a band nowadays they would have tons of features and other celebrities because that's what works in this day and age.

Most people don't want to hear a band that only plays music with them selves, that's why Pink Floyd wouldn't really work if it came out today.

Picture of the Pink Floyd band, much like The Gorrilaz, Oink Floyd was a faceless band, the band was represented by this image.

The Gorrilaz new "The Moutain" album is essentially like the wall. A fun album about the follies of war, or in this case during our time, the follies of political oppression, which is similar to what the writer of Pink Floyd felt during his writing of "The Wall"

The two studio albums that were produced by the two different bands. The Gorrilaz (on right)

And Pink Floyd (on left) notice how you don't see the name of the band on either of these?

It talks about themes such as being oppressed, losing friends to political divide, and lying. It has a little more nuance then The Walls constant drowning on about Daddy.

However I will give Pink Floyd's the walk for telling us what it was like to live in WW2 Britain. Which brings me exactly to my point that, this album talks about what it's like being in America at the edge of WW3.

The idles of lying is a song that talks about people who just fall in line to the propaganda machine, and live in their own bliss that everything will be okay.

The Gorrilaz really hit their nail on the head, and to further my point welcome to the plastic beach and demon days is a combination that can equal dark side of the moon.

The math adds up...

Listen to all three albums and tell us what you think below.
